The Tropical Lighthouse stands out due to its distinctive features. The project includes a cover, promo video, and vinyl disc packing, all reflecting the main theme of the compilation. The colored vinyl and cardboard materials, combined with digital print, result in a visually appealing package that complements the music it contains. The red (A) and turquoise (B) sides of the vinyl record offer different music tones, providing the listener with a corresponding mood.
The design was realized using colored vinyl and cardboard, with the print on the package made using digital print. The specifications of the design are Width 315 mm x Depth 315 mm x Height 5 mm. The project started in April 2017 in Vladikavkaz, Russia, and was completed and published in May 2017.
Creating the Tropical Lighthouse presented several challenges. One of the difficulties was a flaw that caused some music to be reproduced with loss of quality and distortions on colored vinyl. Additionally, colored vinyl is more expensive than pressing to black vinyl, and it may require mixing multiple colors to achieve the exact desired color.
Despite these challenges, Bazaev's design was recognized for its exceptional quality and innovation. The Golden A' Design Award is granted to marvelous, outstanding, and trendsetting creations that reflect the designer's prodigy and wisdom. They are venerated products and bright ideas that advance art, science, design, and technology, embodying extraordinary excellence and significantly impacting the world with their desirable characteristics.
Robert Bazaev's Tropical Lighthouse is a testament to the power of design in enhancing the experience of music. It is a unique blend of visual and auditory art, reflecting the sounds and vibes of the tropical forest in a tangible form. The project not only showcases Bazaev's design prowess but also highlights the potential of design in transforming the way we interact with music.
